Ch. 21 Regrettable Decisions
I had the longest dream, the longest that I could remember, anyway. It was beautiful, even if I knew all too well that it was just a dream as nothing in my life could ever be so perfect. I remember seeing myself, NIM, and Akito together having the time of our lives, recording our songs, filming our music videos, meeting our fans, going on tour around the country, exploring all the joys life had to offer us. Jackson and Aden were there along the way, Jackson having taken time off for an extended vacation that was long overdue and Aden tagging along as the ever vigilant bodyguard. Even Cynthia was in the picture, c
Ch. 19 Fateful Misstep
"Well, isn't this a nice surprise?" When NIM, Akito, Aden, and I entered the fancy restaurant across the street from the parking lot our limo was waiting at, we were greeted with Jackson's warm, inviting smile. Under normal circumstances, I would have been more than happy to see him, but I knew the ulterior motive for him arranging this luncheon. I never agreed to come. In fact, I distinctly remember refuting the invitation. The very thought of being anywhere within five feet of breathing space of that stupid bubble head Amina made me furious. I folded my arms and stayed near the back as Aden walked up to Jackson, remo

"Um, are we there yet?" Akito called out from his seat. Jackson, who was sitting at the driver's seat navigating down the highway, laughed at the question, glancing toward the back of the large van wearing an obliging smile.
"Almost. Sorry, it's a bit of a ways from the city, but it can't be helped. Beaches aren't usually set too far inland." He said before turning back around, facing forward. Aden, who was seated in the passenger's seat, switched on the radio in hopes it would help Akito's restlessness.
"Here, this may help." He offered glancing back, "What station do you guys like to listen to?" Akito took the questio
Ch. 16 Harsh Reality
The world around me was quiet. So very still, I'm sure I could hear a pin drop. Actually, I did hear something, faintly, as if it were far away and out of reach. Slowly the sound grew louder, but I still couldn't clearly make it out. Soon the darkness faded and light began flooding into my subconscious. My eyes were now open still trying to adjust to the brightness of the room I found myself in. My head ached some, but it wasn't terribly distressing. I saw blinds, peach colored curtains bare, white walls and a distinctly familiar sterile scent that could only be found in one place I knew of. Had to be a hospi
Ch. 15 Second Comings
Today had such promise of actually being decent did you ever wake up one morning and have the feeling it was going to be a bad day? Kind of like a deep foreboding that made you want to just turn over and go back to bed. Well, today was one of those days for me. It started out well enough as I previously mentioned with Akito, NIM, and me meeting with Issan in the recording studio to discuss new ideas as well as lay some good audio footage down. I even remember leaving the studio feeling completely rejuvenated as if I'd just left a massage parlor, which was rare for me considering it wasn't even noon yet. Aden had t

Ch. 13 Embracing Fame
An entire week came to pass since the Tayloe incident which was just about how long Cynthia predicted it would take the internet fiasco I assumed he was behind to die down. Turns out, she was right. In some ways it had made us even more popular than before, seeing as people nowadays seemed to thrive on things being blown way out of proportion, and the media didn't help those matters. It had run its course of 'entertaining news' and finally receded, only being cited on dedicated fan-sites, which I'd decided to check out one day on a whim.
I woke up that Monday morning to the sound of my new cell phone rin
